Investigating the Impact of Rater Training on Rater Errors in the Process of Assessing Writing Skill

In the process of measuring and assessing high-level cognitive skills, interference rater errors in measurements brings about a constant concern low objectivity. The main purpose this study was to investigate impact training on individual performance. conducted with pretest-posttest control group quasi-experimental design. research, 45 raters were employed, 23 from 22 experimental group. As data collection tools, writing task that developed by IELTS an analytical rubric assess academic skills used. part procedure, provided implemented combining error frame reference training. When findings examined, it found groups similar each other before experiment, however, after process, made more valid reliable measurements. result, investigated given had such as severity, leniency, central tendency, Halo effect. Based obtained findings, some suggestions offered for researchers future studies.
